  1. Cook a thick pudding from 400 ml of vegetable milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, pudding powder and 1 bag of vanilla sugar. Meanwhile, while the pudding cools down, clean and grate the apples on a coarse grater.
  2. Cut the pastry into smaller pieces. In a bowl, mix the remaining milk (300 ml), egg yolks, 1 bag of vanilla sugar. We dip the pastry in this mixture and place it on a baking sheet or in a baking dish greased with vegetable butter so that the bottom is completely covered. Pour the pudding, place the grated apples, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and place another layer of soaked pastry. If there is some milk left in which we soaked the pastry, pour it over the top of the bun and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for about 25 minutes.
  3. Beat egg whites, a pinch of salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar and a little water (approx. 3 tablespoons) until stiff peaks form. Spread on a bun and bake for 5 minutes until the surface has a golden crust.
